Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP)

Overview

Data Management and Sharing Plans (DMSPs), often required for grant proposal submissions, outline how researchers will manage and share their data both during and after a study. Many federal agencies have specific requirements regarding when, where, and how data must be submitted. To ensure compliance, researchers are strongly encouraged to review each agency’s DMSP guidelines prior to finalizing their plans and when making data publicly available.

The University of Utah provides support through its Data Librarians, who are available to assist with questions related to the data management plan and submission requirements.
